Federer vs. Nadal: Djokovic is afraid before Wimbledon semi-finals

As for defending champion Novak Djokovic, the No. 1 player in the world could not be subjective when he met the man who sowed him many times in the 2019 season.

After the Roland Garros semi-finals 2019, once again, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fought back in the duel to be the “Super classic” of world tennis. The battle on the central court in All England Tennis Club will be the 40th time this pair of rival players clash but this is the fourth time they have competed against each other in Wimbledon.

3 times before each other on the Royal grass of this prestigious Grand Slam, they all met in the finals when Federer won 2 consecutive years 2006 – 2017 before losing to Nadal after 5 sets in 2008 with the score 4-6, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (10-8), 5-7.

Federer has just excelled in a comeback after four previous sets of Kei Nishikori in the quarter-finals to set a record as the first player to hit the 100th Wimbledon win. However, “Express Train” did not dare to be subjective when reunited with Nadal – who won him only after 3 sets in the Roland Garros semi-finals last month and then surpassed Dominic Thiem at the final and the 12th peak of glory in Philippe Chattrier.

However, sharing before the press yesterday, Federer believes he will have a different form in the Wimbledon semi-final than when he met Nadal at the Roland Garros semi-final this year.

“I believe the duel in Wimbledon will not be like Roland Garros. Different pitches and conditions of competition are different. At Roland Garros, we met each other during the windy day. It was crazy. I hope that will not happen again in the fight tomorrow”.

Meanwhile, for his part, Nadal was also very cautious when he was about to reunite with his rival Federer – a record of playing the field with 8 Wimbledon championships and 10 times to claim Halle Open.
